Dave ran the Toronto Festival of Clowns for 15 years. Also, he was a producer of the Lunacy Cabaret that also ran for 15 years with over 200 shows. Toronto Life Magazine described it as "A low-rent punk rock Cirque du Soleil."
Dave directed several clown shows including Primal Broads at the New Ideas Festival and Omie Finds his Way at the Toronto Fringe which was held in a giant geodesic dome on the property of the University of Toronto much to the chagrin of the groundskeepers.
Sketchy the Clown ran for Mayor of Toronto in 2014 up against Rob and then Doug Ford, John Tory, and Olivia Chow. He did not win.
Sketchy appeared at 100s of cabaret, vaudeville, burlesque and comedy shows. Winning the Best of the Best Comedy Competition in 2014 and a Harold Award in 2013. Sketchy was a regular at the Harvest Festival, Mooseman, and the Burning Man Festival where one year he was a host at Super Street Fire - a live action video arcade game where contestants fought using 15' flame effects.
Last year Sketchy donated a few hundred costume pieces to the WTFestival spreading the dank smell of his garage and armpits to performers all across the city.
